Our origin story
Why we built AnswerPress
Search is splitting in two.
On one side, traditional Google rankings still matter. On the other, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini are quietly becoming the way people actually find businesses. The old playbook (keywords, backlinks, the ten blue links) gets you found. The new playbook gets you recommended inside an AI answer, often without a click.
Our team at AgenticPress saw this shift before most. We were already building AI Search Optimization (AISO) into custom WordPress sites for clients across real estate, professional services, retail, restaurants, and home services. We knew what the structure of an AI-ready site needed to look like.
But we kept running into the same wall.
Even after we built a client a beautiful, structured, schema-rich website, the content side stayed broken. Owners and marketing teams were blogging sporadically. Topics were random. The voice drifted from post to post. Strategic categories were never reinforced. And the work, even when it was good, wasn’t being written in a way that AI systems could confidently cite.
We tried existing tools. SEO plugins that grade your post after you’ve written it. AI writers that produce generic drafts disconnected from your brand. Enterprise SaaS that lives outside WordPress and forces a copy-paste tax on every article. Nothing handled the part that actually mattered: the strategy before the writing.
So we built it ourselves.
AnswerPress is what we wished existed: a WordPress-native workflow that handles category, topic, keyword, headline, link, and draft decisions in one place, grounded in your brand and built for the way AI search actually works.
The team
Who’s behind it
AnswerPress is a product of AgenticPress, a WordPress agency focused entirely on AI Search Optimization. We’ve been doing this work since AI search was a thing most people were still skeptical about.
A few things shape how we build:
We’re operators, not theorists. Every workflow in AnswerPress was sharpened on real client websites first. The 8-step campaign process is the one our own team used internally before it was a product. If it didn’t survive the agency floor, it didn’t make it into the app.
We live inside WordPress. AgenticPress builds, hosts, and maintains WordPress sites. We’re not an outside SaaS trying to bolt onto your CMS. AnswerPress connects to your existing WordPress install via REST API, respects your taxonomy, and pushes content with metadata and schema already in place.
We care about the small operator. Most AEO and GEO tools are priced for enterprise content teams. We built AnswerPress so a solo small-business owner, a freelancer, or a 3-person agency can run the same caliber of strategy a big content shop runs, in about seven minutes per campaign.

What we believe
A few principles run through everything we ship.
Strategy comes before writing. Generic AI drafts are a commodity. The real work is deciding which category, topic, keyword, and headline a piece should target, and why. AnswerPress front-loads those decisions so the writing has somewhere to go.
SEO got you found. AEO gets you recommended. Traditional search optimization is still necessary, but no longer sufficient. Content needs to be structured the way answer engines parse, cite, and quote. Every campaign is built for both.
Your voice is non-negotiable. Tools that flatten every brand into the same chirpy AI voice are doing more damage than good. AnswerPress builds a profile from your existing site and uses it to keep your tone, vocabulary, and point of view intact across every piece.
Consistency compounds. A focused brand publishing thoughtful content into 10 to 20 reinforced categories will out-perform a sprawling site doing twice the volume. We build for the compounding game, not the spray-and-pray one.
